We give you a hand!
RITA, in partnership with TNS, a renowned Cucuta company, will donate two 3D-printed robotic forearm prostheses to people missing forearms.
Who can apply to this call?
Any person who meets the following requirements:
Born in Colombia, in the Norte de Santander department
Over 18 years old (Prove ID)
Lack of forearm (Clinical History)
Be formally employed* or be pursuing a university degree (Employment/Educational Certification)
Have great motivation and desire to acquire the prosthesis and express it in a video.
Note: Those selected will undergo medical evaluation tests (electromyography, allergy tests, etc.) to determine the physical and psychological compatibility of the potential beneficiary with the prosthesis.
* Please note that the prosthesis can support a maximum weight of 5kg.
What are the steps of the call?
Check if you meet the requirements
Complete and submit the application form, including a video telling us your story and why you deserve to be a forearm prosthesis recipient.
After submitting the form, you will receive a confirmation message.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the results. RITA will send you an email informing you if you have been selected.
What are the selection criteria?
We would like to be able to lend a hand to everyone, and we know there are many people who need it. However, in this first round, we will only be able to donate two prostheses.
At RITA, we believe in equal rights and opportunities and that all participants in this competition have the right to an excellent quality of life.
Although we know it won't be easy, beneficiaries will be selected based on two criteria:
Motivation and desire to receive the prosthesis and commitment to making excellent use of it.
Medical evaluation to determine the compatibility of the beneficiary and the prosthesis.
Dates to keep in mind
October 28 – November 30 -> Apply to the call on our website by filling out the application form below.
November 30 – December 7 -> Pre-selection of beneficiaries. Beneficiaries will be informed of their selection and invited to undergo the corresponding medical examinations.
January 10, 2020 -> Prosthesis presentation ceremony.
